I believe every teacher and student uses technology in the classroom in different ways and for different reasons.  In observing classrooms I've seen good teachers utilize technology in the spaces where they were switching assignments and not so great teachers use is as their main form of teaching-- being very hands off.  Students today have no choice but to adapt with technology and it has many open opportunities to be used as a learning source.  ISTE Standards: The ISTE standards seem to build a guideline for teachers on how to incorporate technology effectively in their classrooms. I'd be willing to say that it would be an useful tool for teachers who are cautious about technology to use. The site claims that if teachers follow the "norms of appropriate, responsible tech. use" then it will build good digital citizenship. In other words, build students to not use technology for bad. Which, realistically is probably not fully preventable.  For student standards...
Hi,  This is my first blog because I'm doing this for an education class at Florida State.  A little bit about myself: I'm born and raised in Tallahassee and I attend FSU as a psychology major. My main interests are in clinical and abnormal psychology. But, I've always had an interest in child development and child psychology as well which has lead me to wanting a career in the education field. I have two intense dogs who I adore regardless of their unique personalities. I also love food and eat all day everyday.  My Experience with Tech:  To be honest I feel like I'm a little behind with technology sometimes. I don't get involved much with social media and I really just use powerpoint, excel, and word for when needed at school. My knowledge doesn't go much further than what I absolutely need to know.  What I hope to learn is the things I don't know. I'd like to learn about applications I might need in the education field, what my students may need...
