I went to Hawks Rise Elementary as a kid so I decided to check out their teacher pages. I looked at kindergarten specifically and they were all about the same. They all had cute bubbly introductions as well as a meet the teacher section, sight word for practice page, resources, and class schedule as well as a few other module choices. For this young of a grade these teacher pages are directed to the parent for extra help with their child as well as helpful encouragement to work with their child outside of class to promote healthy development.

As I’ve stated in a previous blogpost I’m not exactly the most social media fluid person in the world. Creating a blogpost weekly is just like doing an assignment for any class. As if I’m typing up a short and sweet paper each Monday. That being said I do like how I can be somewhat creative with how my blog looks. I love looking at my classmates blogs because they get really into it and they look fantastic. I’ve learned that I should use hyperlinks with my classmates names to instead of just throwing the ugly links at the end of my blog and how to measure up pictures to be legible for my potential readers.
The web evaluation was pretty straightforward and I followed the example almost to a tee. I don’t like the tediousness that it takes to create one. I’m hoping there’s an easier way to create and repeat things over and over. I feel like it would be a really useful assignment for middle school and up. Since I plan on becoming an elementary teacher I may not find as much use out of it. Especially with my target grades kindergarten and first grade.

  2. Hey Alexis! :) I love that you mentioned how you can bring some creativity into blogging, in ways that you can't for other class assignments. It feels more personalized and fun. I'm glad that you're learning about hyperlinks, too. I just got the hang of putting a blogroll on my blog. You're changing the fonts and color in your blog's text, which I love (and might try this week). And it's nice that you're already assessing what assignments would be best for your classroom in the future. Have a good week!
