The Flipped Classroom:
This approach is an unstructured way to teach outside of a traditional classroom setting. For example, the teacher and student may meet in the real classroom but the teacher may record the sessions or have outside notes about the lesson available online to the students. This benefits both absent students and students who want a better understanding of lecture material. I believe this is a great way for students to have an abundance of classroom resources and learning material to their advantage.
The Digital Divide:
The digital divide is the idea that with more and more technology being incorporated in life itself the more the gap grows between people with access and those without. This means that everyone may not have access to equal education or educational resources. If one student has access to an abundance of resources and one does not then there is not a fair opportunity to succeed. Unfortunately, as a teacher I will most likely see this gap within my career.
To avoid problems I can make sure I speak to parents and understand what resources are had and what are not and make adjustments to my teaching as needed. I hope to work at a school where we can make accommodations and give the students the resources they need to succeed. I'd definitely make it my mission to make sure none of my students fall behind due to this if possible.
I actually had no idea you could make buttons in powerpoint and I'm excited I now know how to. I enjoy using powerpoint in any scenario because it's a fairly easy application. In college it's my favorite way to view and have notes in class.

  1. Awesome post! I think that having classroom notes for students to access online is a genius idea! I wish my teachers did that when I was in grade school! I agree that it's important to talk with parents about their child's needs so that adjustments that will enhance their learning can be made. Thank you for sharing!

  2. I totally agree that flipped classroom is very beneficial for students! It definitely provides them with a better opportunity to really learn and understand the material they are given, and gives them access to new sources!
